Rich -
I think they "Armored" it against stray RF. Joe Cro has a early
set completely lined with copper....... probably for the same reason.
Probably a sales line to get some radio folk to buy an armored radio. Not
bulletproof, shellproof, or grenade proof. If it were, we'd see a lot more
"Brunswicks".
