if one brings in a vcr dvd player just be looked at its $50. Most repair 
shops will discount that if the customer chooses to have the device 
repaired.   I think that is a fair price and I would venture to say anyone 
wanting to salvage a family treasure would not mind paying that.

Again I have nothing against good will toward the public but when i have 
seen some members standing in the wings for a radio repair and then not 
being taken care of because a non members set was being worked on it baffles 
me.

someone said in their email that they would choose to repair a non members 
set since it would save it from the garbage heap.  Well if you applied that 
logic to teaching a member during the repair clinces more than one set would 
be salvaged and in turn they could pass on their skills.
