[NJARC] Capacitor question

Joe
I found the schematic at:
http://users.iglide.net/hworth/radio/data/944.gif . C-42 is an AC line
bypass capacitor. Pin 3 of the 35C5 is just a convenient tie point, this
capacitor has nothing to do with the audio power amplifier operation
other then bypassing line noise. In the early 50s, it was common
practice to use regular paper capacitors for AC line bypass. But today
there are specially rated capacitors.

Check out Doug Moore's http://antiqueradio.org/safety.htm for a tutorial
of the pitfalls of AC-DC receivers.

Regards,
Jim
