By all means, connect me to the other mailing list, and 
we'll take this to a better forum.

The Gonsets multiply the xtal by 18.  The 144.450 freq I 
mentioned probably happened because of the WWII channel 364 
FT-243 rocks are 8025KHz.  It would be tough to find more 
than a couple of these.

We may be in luck.  There are microprocessor crystals at 
8192 for way less than a buck in the Mouser catalog.  That 
would put us on 147.456MHz in the middle of a simplex 
subband on the ARRL band plan.
