I recently found this item marked "Amplifier Detector" and would like to know more about it. It has no identifying information that I can find. It appears to be manufactured and I would like to know who the manufacturer was (should someone know). Photos at the following links;

Approximate dimensions are 7"W x 5"H x 8"D with an esitmated weight of 10 pounds. The black metal case has stamped/embossed feet on the base. The words "Amplifier Detector" are neatly stamped into the metal case. Also the words "HIGH" and "LOW" are stamped on either side of the toggle switch in the center of the front panel. Actually it is more like a modern light switch turned on its side. The front panel shafts control a pair of "Bradleyohm Perfect Resistors". The stud on the lower RHS appears to be a grounded to the case. There is a single socket for a 4 pin tube(?) in the back. The remainder of the compartmented interior is made up of some components (capacitors?) embedded in tar blocks surrounded by tin (?) sheets.
Since the top is missing I found newspapers crumpled up inside. The newspapers are Chicago Daily Tribune pages dated Friday, Sept 10, 1926 (possibly a 'red herring'...).
TIA!
