Hello,
I picked up a heathkit dx60 transmitter and decided to make a
restoration project. Actually it is in very decent shape. Its been a
while since my tube days so have a few questions.
Its rated at 90 watts INPUT which makes sense since when tuned up plate
voltage is approx. 600vdc and plate current is 150ma. I'm just not sure
about how efficient its supposed to be. The following are the output
powers per band using a 7.030 mhz crystal into a dummy load. (don't have
an 80 mtr. xtal to test with).
40 meters 55 watts output
20 meters 52 watts
15 meters 45 watts
10 meters 35 watts
The rig seems to work fine, only other issue I notice is that the (-)
bias voltages on the driver and final PA are 20-30% lower than the
manual states.
Any comments appreciated.
