[NJARC] Broadcast band tracking on Emerson model CY288

Al,
Aaron was able to point me to a decent copy
of the schematic. It shows C4 connecting to one
of the grids on the 6A8GT tube. C1 is also in
parallel with C4 and is adjustable. What is that
all about (2 caps in parallel both adjustable).

Hi Phil,

This set is in Riders 11 page Emerson 11. I had to search
on CY(space)288 to find it. The electronic copy is
difficult to read. I'll scan the original if you need it.

You'll want to tweak the oscillator padder condensor, C4, to
align the low end of the broadcast band. (Trim high - Pad
low.) The "padder" is IN SERIES with the oscillator coil.
from it's "cold" end to ground. I'd expect a compression
variable cap with lots of plates. The "trimmer" is in
parallel with the coil/padder combination and aligns the
high end of the tuning range.

Regards,
Al
