Hello All,
I just acquired a nice RME-69 without it's matching (or any
other) speaker and was wondering if anyone could tell me if this particular
receiver used a choke in series with the speaker in it's audio output like a
Breting, etc, or many other receivers of it's day (mid-late '30's)?

I know it's not like some National models that had external audio output
transformers in their accessory speaker enclosures; since I see what I believe
to be an audio output transformer in it. It can be used with either a 600 or
4000 ohm speaker.

Is a RME-69 (speaker) plug and play or will I have to add a choke in series
with a speaker? Any information will be greatfully appreciated.

Also, I have the matching DB-20 preselector I plan on recapping and going
over to use with the RME-69 rx. I downloaded a BAMA manual for it but was
curious if anyone among us who have the pair could tell me of any particular
hookup and operational problems. It seems to me to be pretty much straightforward.
I plan to use both in everyday operation with a similar "period" transmitter.
                             Best Regards,
                                                 Joe Cro N3IBX
