We'll be offering more -- and better quality -- streaming video (and
perhaps a few other surprises) on the club website in the near future.
Based on a "show of hands" survey at a recent meeting, it seems that a
significant portion of our membership now has access to a high speed
internet connection. We'll be posting decent quality web movies for
folks capable of streaming them. If you are one of the may with a 56K
dialup connection, don't despair, we haven't forsaken you, there will
continue to be low bandwidth copies posted that anyone should be able to
stream. And even with a dialup connection, you can still download the
larger file for later viewing on your computer if you'd like, it would
just take a while.
Please help us fine tune this member service:
Take a moment to check out the newest movie on the web site. It's Phil
Vourtsis' recording of Danny Stiles' presentation at last Decembers
holiday party meeting. This file should open in Windows Media Player and
stream on DSL and cable connections. Please let me know if you have any
problems streaming, particularly if you have a DSL connection. You can
find the program right now at the top of our home page
http://www.njarc.org. We'll be creating a separate section in the online
library soon.
We'll be posting in a mix of Real Video and Windows Media Video formats.
Please let me know if either format gives you trouble.
I'll greatly appreciate your feedback on this is working out.
Thanks,
--Dave Sica
