Greetings, John and the club
I have noticed the same here in the mid-south (AR, LA, TX and OK) only
not as many as you report. But then again, there are usually only 30 to
50 sellers at Hamfest here that are not state conventions. At most
Hamfests, the BC sets that I have noticed are late 20s to late 30s sets
in wood cases. At the Old Radio events, especially in Texas, the sellers
seem to have a lot more of the plastic cased radios from the 40s to the
50s. Maybe it is just because the BC radios are also tube sets and now
considered ancient technology?
If any club members are going to Rochester this month, stop by and say
hi! Ruth and I are planning to make the trip this year. We will drive
up Thursday night through Friday morning and will leave Saturday night.
With School starting that week, it is all the time I can afford.
Regards from Arkansas,
Ruth and Jim
