[NJARC] Hamfest - Broadcast Radio Sighting Report

Hi Gang,

I was at the Berryville, VA, Hamfest on Sunday.  I was amazed at the sheer 
number of Broadcast radios there.  A couple of sellers each had somewhere 
between 25 and 75 radios.  And I saw Broadcast radios at least 20 other 
tables, some with one or two, and some with 5 or 6.  My total guess would 
be 150 radios.  A lot of them were complete and in good physical condition. 
Everything from early one and two tube Detector sets, to TRF's, to 
Superheterodynes.

I don't ever remember a Hamfest with so many Broadcast radios.  I was being 
good, I didn't bring any home, though I was tempted on a couple.

The weekend before this at Timmonium, MD, the BRATS Hamfest, I also saw a 
bunch of Broadcast radios.  Does anybody have any idea why they are showing 
up in such numbers?
