Hello Al,
Thanks for the good eye help. Here is my quandry on the Philco 41-295
where the 16 and 25 uf are in the circut, whomever last worked on this added
in a 16 and 20 uf and did not take the original cans (electrolytics) out of
the circut. I'm going to take the old caps out of the circut and see what
happens. With the way it was wired, it should have shorted out when turned
on. I'm glad I didn't turn it on.
Also, thanks to everyone for the speaker suggestions. I have some
other speakers to practice on first, so I'll put trial and error to the test.
When I get it right, I'll pass the results along.
BTW... I tried the suggestion that is on Ron Ramirez's site for rebuilding
bayonet dial lamp sockets with parts from Radio Shack sockets. It works
perfectly if anyone needs to rebuild theirs.
