Rob,

I have most of the magazines in boxes from Mr. Gold's estate and will take a
quick look to see if any of them contain the Thordarson transformer catalog.
You never know...

I spotted a Thordarson transformer catalog amongst the stuff that was
cleaned out of Mr. Gold's shack on Saturday. By the time I realized how
extensive his use of Thordarson transformers was I had lost track of the
catalog. If anyone spots that among the papers collected that day, it
would definitely come in very handy in psyching out his transmitter.

Anyone out there recognize a 30s or 40s commercial manufacturer of amateu=
r
transmitters that liked to use the following stuff?

Round Tripplett meters
National knobs with dial skirts
Johnson RF parts
Thordarson transformers

I am looking into a hypothesis that at least some of the units in the Gol=
d
transmitter may have been commercially made.

I'm a newcomer to the list, having just acquired a GE H-116, which I am
starting to restore. I'm curious if anyone else on this list has one of
these, and would like to offer any tips or suggestions.

Thanks to all who offered their help with my Sparton 15. I'll be bringing
it
to the next meeting if anyone is intersted in seeing this piece. I'll leave
it intact for now so that you can see it in its present condition (less the
cabinet and speaker as it is a console).
