I was at Charlotte last week, and due to the cold weather, I thought the
attendance was down a hair from last year...
However, it is still a great show, but no real high end stuff did I see.
I sold a fair amount of capacitors and knobs, and the only two TERK AM 1000
tunable passive loop antennas I brought, sold the first Detrola tombstone
(1931), a large horn speaker, and a Zenith 1942 portable.
My Zenith 8-S-154 console, restored chassis did not sell...
I bought several knobs I needed from David Frush, and made a contact for a
bunch of Centralab control parts I want, and toured around CHarlotte and
the areas north back to Detroit area. Hit a bunch of antique malls...
(nothing there, but had to look). OOps, I did find the upper part of a
Motorola 10Y console, in decent shape if you need a nice chassis and full
set of knobs, escutcheons, etc for one...somebody had cut the console in
half to make a "table set"! A rare bird, that.
Anyone else, reports on Charlotte?
I love the "Lemans Start"!!!
