Hi Joe,

I replaced the drive belts in my 11S232 (waltons) with
rubber (Neoprene) O-rings some years ago, and they've held
up well. The trick is to visit your local bearing store.
See the yellow pages. The rings are available in a wide
array of thicknesses and diameters. They're cheap enough
that you can by a couple of sizes to make sure you straddle
the one you really need. Measure the length around the two
pullys with a scrap of hookup wire. Divide by 3.14 and
apply a little Kentucky windage. I.e., you want to be a
little short to get some tension.

Another approach might be to visit
http://www.mcmelectronics.com and check out the rubber belts
used in VCR's and such.
