Hi all,
I am busy getting the 7330 repeater controllers updated and trying to get
a good handle on the software and the functions of the system.
In the course of doing some fresh programming, instead of using the Mr.
Roboto voice for our club repeater announcements 100% of the time, I'm
looking for input (be nice) for repeater human voice announcements. So
far we have just 2 programmed into the new 7330 "Buckhorn fig1" controller
which is the club/station ID. Attached is an mp3 sample.
There are going to be some basic announcements such the ARES and SKYWARN
info as well as linking and unlinking statements that still need to be
created.
Since getting the actual recording and then translating it into 7330 format
and then actually loading it in is a fairly big undertaking, what I want
to do is to create a library of all announcements and program the bulk of
them into all controllers if possible. That way all the repeaters would
have the same set of human voice announcements and if the controllers
needed to be reprogrammed for functionality then the voice announcements
would be universal among all the controllers.
Long-winded announcements and time dated information need to be avoided
since the process to reprogram the the controller's custom audio is not
trivial and we are limited to 13 minutes total time...
>From the Manual:
The 7330 and associated support software supports the capability for you to
develop your own custom audio words and messages. These can be used in
addition to what is already available in the standard Speech Vocabulary
Tables.
You can create and add individually playable words up to a total maximum
length of 13 minutes of audio, consisting of sounds, words, phrases, and
announcements. You are only limited by your imagination and by any
regulatory restrictions appropriate for your use of the repeater.
Some voice announcements are better suited to using Mr. Roboto; such as the
time announcement or power reset/battery backup types of messages.
So I'm throwing it out there.
I want the voice announcements to be a female voice since the higher
pitched voice usually an attention getter. I do have a candidate in mind
if she agrees. Very pleasant and professional sounding.
