Fellow Amateur Radio Operators (HAMS),

Your services are once again requested. The Fort Collins Rowing Association, a local non-profit organization, is in need of some emergency communications up on the Horsetooth reservoir. They are holding a Sculling boat race with 1, 2, 4 and 8 persons rowing across and back across the reservoir. The event starts at 7:00am and will be pretty much done by 9:30am.

Event Name: Horsetooth Ache
Date: 24 Sept 2011
Time: 06:00 - 10:00
Positions: 6-10
Radio Requirements: 440 HT

They are looking for some help with emergency communications for the event. We will need to be there at 6am for assignments and getting into position. We will be supporting the Fort Collins Dive Rescue crews and if we have any HAMS who want to put their boats in the water they will either get it waived or cover your $15 boat launch fee for the day. Boats have to be on assignment well before the race starts so the wakes can settle due to the fact that a motorboat wake can cause the thin sculling boats to capsize vary easily.

Please let me know if you are interested in the event and if you have your own boat.

Thanks for your help!
