[NCARC] propagation -- interesting echo on HF

I will have to check out the MINIPROP thing.

I don't really understand the sunspot reporting
numbers, A, K, and all of that. I know more sunspots
is good, less is bad.

I did find a good program that shows the greyline, which
I believe was involved with what I experienced.

The best book I've ever read about propagation was
"Low Band DX-ing" from the ARRL. Lots of stuff
that went over my head. I may dig it out and read
up on greyline and longpath.

As for antennas, I'm still just on my G5RV at 20 ft.
I want to eventually put up a tower and get my TR-3
tri-bander up there, or better yet I have an Explorer-14 with
40-meter dipole feature. I would like to go to 60 or
70 feet this time if I can. I need to collect
some more parts: a base fixture for Rohn 25G,
a couple more sections of tower, some guy anchor
material of some sort and some more guyline.

At least at this site I shouldn't have any problem
with getting concrete to the holes. No covenants,
and no building permit needed according to the county
inspector.
