Hi all!

Yes, it's that time of year again and dangerously close. The annual
running of the Ft. Collins Marathon happens this year on May 4th, 2008.
The link to the marathon's official website follows:

http://www.ftcollinsmarathon.com/

On that page there are course maps, aid station locations, times, etc.
The race will begin at 6:00am on the 4th. Stations working the canyon
will need to be on station by 5:45am and earlier is better so as to
avoid the traffic that is sure to be a mess that day. There are 12 aid
stations along the marathon route. Their distance into the race and
locations are as follows:

Station	Mileage	Name Call
Aid 1	2.6 The Rock Tunnel
Aid 2	5.0 Ouzel Day Use Area KC0QOK
Aid 3	7.1 Poudre Park AC0BI
Aid 4	10.1 Raft Put In KB0GAE
Aid 5	12.8 Green Pipe - This is also
				the start of the half-
				marathon.
Aid 6	15.3 Guard Rail KC0ZZT
Aid 7	16.8 Ted's Place
Aid 8	19.1 Bagel Hill
Aid 9	21.4 Lyon's Park
Aid 10	23.2 Taft Hill & Bike Path
Aid 11	24.2 Shields & Bike Path
Aid 12	25.2 Lee Martinez Park

In addition to the aid stations above we have need of hams at the
following locations:

Location Call
Start line/Supply Truck
Finish Line
Finish Line
Sag 1 N0PT
Sag 2
State Patrol Vehicle	KC0SIQ
Bicycle 1 W0CDN
Bicycle 2 N0EAS

As you can see we need about 21 volunteers PLUS a net control. At
present we have 8. Thank you all for volunteering. If you know of
anyone that you think would like to help out with this VERY important
communications tasking please talk this up and get them in touch with me
right away. We can plan ahead for all of the fixed stations pretty
easily but the mobile stations will require direct contact with your
drivers in advance of race day to coordinate pairing you up with them
and their vehicle in advance of the race start time.

I realize this is just a quick email about this. I will be happy to
provide more information either by email or phone so don't hesitate to
contact me concerning this event.

73 and thanks again!
