Calling all hams who really enjoy the hobby and are willing to share 40
minutes of it with a class in Loveland.

I still need guest lecturers/demonstrators for a technician class we are
starting this week in Loveland.  There are 4 teaching segments left--each
only 40 minutes (see below).  Now's your chance to share your hobby with
others who are interested.  There are just 4 modules left.  I have an
instructors guide and pages from "Now You're talking" that make this really
easy-- much of it is hands-on demonstration.  Please let me know if you are
willing to commit to cover one of these.   You've got a whole month or more
to prepare--- so sign up now!   Existing instructors also welcome to pick
any of these!

Module 03A - good operating practices part II (40 minutes)
May 25th

	Using internet gateways (can be skipped)
	Bandwidth and common settings
	Signal purity, spurious emissions, examples and causes
	Interference, high and low pass filters, telephone filter. How
multiband antennas can easily radiate harmonics

Module 05A -station setup, wavelength, frequency (40 minutes)
June 1st

	Setting up a station that is safe and easy to use (first exposure of
this material)
	How to arrange equipment, bring in feedlines, importance of a good
station ground
	SWR monitors, antenna tuners, microphones, duplbexers, power amps
	wavelength vs. frequency
	Transmission lines, matching

Module 07A - repeaters or direct, autopatch, moonbounce, ATV (40 minutes)
June 8th

	Using VHF/JHF FM transcievers through repeaters and direct
	How to use a repeater autopatch
	How to locate a repeater in a location that is new to you using a
repeater guide
	Amateur radio satellite and moonbounce
	ATV and SSTV
	What sorts of one-way transmissions are legal (Beacon stations and
telecomand remote control of model aircraft and boats)

Module 08A - Safe station, grounding, RF Safety (40 minutes)
June 8th
	How to set up a station that is safe and easy to use
	Open and short circuits
	Electrical safety and 3-wire 120 V ac power cords
	Importance of good grounding
	How to avoid RF safety hazards
	RF Radiation, energey, EMR, and MPE
	Learn limits for MPE imposed by FCC rules and how to evaluate
	Learn how to determine field strengths around an antenna
