Calling all amateurs in the Northern Colorado Area:

The NCARC (Northern Colorado Amateur Radio Club) is one of the co-sponsors
of HAMCON. This is going to be a don't-miss event for hams and potential
hams in the Colorado area. We need some volunteer help in contacting a few
vendors. Here's an opportunity to get in touch with one of your favorite
companies and also a way you can really help out NCARC and ham radio in
Colorado.

What is HAMCON? This is a large convention (1000 attendees are predicated)
that will take place in Estes Park on May 30, 31st and June 1st 2003.
Riley Hollingsworth, K4ZDH (FCC Special Counsel) will be one of several
keynote speakers. NCARC is one of the sponsors of the convention, having
contributed seed money of $150.00. Hotel rooms are available at
discounted rates, a KOA RV park is mile away, and there are a number of
events including AMSAT, digital modes, internet radio linking projects, ARP
contesting, Colorado ARES, beginning contesting, Colorado Search and Rescue,
South Pole Amateur Station information, and so on. Please see
www.hamconcolorado.org

We need a few volunteers to help us contact and encourage the remaining
uncontacted vendors of ham equipment to attend. This will involve a 5 - 10
minute phone call to several vendors to let them know about HAMCON and to
encourage them to participate. We have about 18 vendors left to contact
and need 3-4 more people to help us contact them. The key points are:

1) 1000+ hams attending
2) Estes Park vacation spot-- nice location
3) ICOM and other major vendors have already planned on attending.
4) Excellent exhibit facilities

The vendors we need to have contacted are listed below. If you do business
regularly with a few of these-- that would be even better. Please contact
me, Steve Henry, N7GN at [email protected] or at 970-226-2817. I can
email you full information on the conference. The more vendors we get to
attend the bigger the success of this conference and the more returns we can
get for the NCARC club treasury! Thanks much,

Steve Henry
