[NCARC] Great Fest

Greetings,

I want to congratulate Jerry, W0MC, and Rod, N0RC, on another great 
fest.  They filled all of the available tables with vendors, after a 
great publicity campaign, and implemented some great new and innovative 
ideas.  I think the presentations were a great success and the number of 
tests given was a record for our fests.

Thanks also to Randy, KC0ELL, Betty, KC0ELO, and all the others for a 
great kitchen.  We had some treats that we had not had before, like the 
Q-Doba tacos.  Great job.

Floyd, KC0BYX, headed up the security for the fest.  Thanks goes to him 
and all who helped him, as the overnight security detail saved the club 
a few hundred dollars that would have gone to hiring a guard to protect 
the assets of our vendors.  I am proud to say that *our* club does not 
have a problem filling these overnight positions.  The other part of 
security is the people who watched the doors and took admissions. Thanks 
to the Slates and the Crawfords for selling tickets throughout the whole 
morning and to all of the others who helped watch doors. Kerry, N0WIQ, 
provided talk-in for the first part of the fest.  These tasks take time 
from your fest day, but help the club greatly.

Also, a big hand for the people who worked setup and helped clean up. 
This is the physical labor of the fest and is greatly appreciated by all 
who enjoyed the rest of the activities.  It is especially hard to stay 
motivated after all of the day's events are through, to stick around and 
help clean up.  Thanks to all of those involved.

Many other people gave time and contributed in countless ways to the 
success of the fest.  Thanks also goes to them and the work they did to 
help out.  All of the above contributions are necessary for a success 
like we had today.  This kind of success will build our reputation as 
"the good one" to attend and lead to larger and larger attendances, 
which will enable us to do even better things.  I think we are on a 
great track with this effort in planning and execution, and we have 
something to really be proud of.
