On Tuesday morning I noticed that my internet access seemed slower than
usual.
I had been getting d/u 220/22, now 90/11.
Called Spectrum and they found no problem.
Spectrum mentioned that they are now offering 600 Mbps at -$5/month less
that I was paying.
This included with a 3 year service contract.
Okay, I accepted.
Then the 'house of cards' tumbled.
My cable modem would only do 90/22.
More phone calls, more testing, more rebooting.
I exchanged the cable modem.
Still 90/22.
I got a technician appointment for Thursday afternoon.
By 4:30 PM Thursday my cable service tested at nominal 600 Mbps.
There is some sequence of rebooting the cable modem and my
router/firewall that results in everything working.
I figured that sequence out this morning.
Finally I am getting 580/22.
Since my upload is 22 Mbps, and likely yours is also,
this means that my AREDN tunnels are likely <= 22 Mbps.
To get ~600 Mbps from Spectrum, you may need a DocSys 3.1 capable modem.
73, Chuck
