A little more background on the technology:

 

The significant advantages are it is very low power , long-range and low cost of entry. It does not solve world hunger. There significant activity with the technology from a non licensed and licensed ham radio perspective

It looks I can build two unregulated band transceivers for under $50. That may cover the cost of battery and solar power. More of a Meshtastic implementation with encryption off

Amature Frequencies –144/440/915 MHZ transeivers Closer $130 for 2 boards. The solar power and battery cost would be much more

 

I was looking to partner with someone already working on it locally, if possible.
