[MVMA] Mesh and 2019 Simulated Emergency Test (SET) 5 October 2019

It is a little bit different since we already know the mesh coverage (read
on). On battery backup, the mesh performs at the same level since it is the
same equipment. With VHF/UHF, we use repeaters so get the boost of extra
power. What we are doing is drawing a map of how much of Greene County we
can cover without repeaters, just going radio-to-radio. So we are both
power and somewhat sight-limited since we don't have 200 foot towers on
hills with high power out for this exercise.

The GCARES meeting is tonight at 7:30 pm at Station #61. If someone is
willing to drive around or if people at home would like to go mesh-to-mesh
directly without going through the big nodes, that would be a great test.
Try to go person-to-person over mesh, i.e., change your SSIDs so you do not
see any of the mesh other than those participating in the test and see
whether you can see each other and from where. That would be valuable
information and would simulate a lack of repeaters.
