Breaking news: Nightly build: All AREDN supported devices can function
as a Wi-Fi Access Point
https://www.arednmesh.org/content/turn-onoff-mesh-rf-turn-onoff-mesh-lan-access-point
"Now, an access point can be any AREDN device and it would then DtDLink
with a cat5 cable to another mesh node with RF mesh enabled."
This trades 'RF mesh access' for 'Wi-Fi Access Point' on any supported
device.

Emcomm: This reduces the equipment list when providing internet access
to a served agency via an aredn-mesh gateway
('served-agency-portable-go-kit').
Auxcomm: Ditto, plus my personal portable Wi-Fi capable devices (laptop,
tablet, cellphone) can access the mesh-intranet (and www-internet).
e.g. I have '(video)softfone' access to my mesh PBX via laptop or
cellphone via my 'personal-go-box'.
When Wi-Fi connected and when running 'linphone', my laptop (x1071) and
cellphone (x1070) can be dialed in/out from any PBX registered
phone. All 'MeshPhone' services are available. i.e. Conference,
intra-mesh, via internet: national, inter-national and inter-continental
calls are accessible.

Think of all the new possibilities.
