I believe the MVMA loaner kit should be configured with its current NSM2 XM, with DHCP for a Grandstream GXP-1630 VoIP phone configured with some area mesh phones as Speed Dials on the Multi-Purpose Keys (MPK). 

Rather than a second node for when the primary can't connect to a node on our mesh, perhaps we should configure the NSM2 as a client to one of our tunnel servers and include a Netgear GS105E set up with a WAN port and ethernet cable. That would allow them to explore our mesh and make phone calls even if they can’t RF link to a mesh node.

Since Chuck Gelm, NC8Q, already offers a wide variety of loaner nodes and is current on AREDN technology, I recommend we give the MVMA loaner kit to Chuck to update and manage. Chuck did a great job at Maker Faire. If he’ll accept this role, I'll nominate him for it at the meeting.
