But MO ifin youse don't likes it donta use it.
Heck I live 10 miles from a high profile MESH site and I can't
hit it from a 40-50 foot tower but I think those of you who do use
are doing a super job of forwarding the cause.
PS:
Some of the things people come up with such as Winlink Express
for emergency situations does not make sense to me either BUT neither
does Mesh in the form that is used in the Dayton area. Good old voice
seems to work because when the chips are down most hams know how
to use their radios..............BUT I suppose there may be a need for Winlink
and MESH someday when that day comes we should be ready.
thank's to people like you, Chuck, Bill and Fred Dayton should
be covered.

Winlink is like Yaesu WIRES and Fusion, and Icom D-Star some of the EMCOMM crowd became enamored over.
…and not just that in reality it uses internet where radio links aren’t available.
It is product-dependent… in this case on a product sold only by Bill Gates and company.
FLDIGI is portable and available on Windows, Mac, and Linux, including the Raspberry Pi.
Some of us are Windows-free at home, in the field, and on the road.
You might remember that at one time I had a standards-based email server on the MVMA mesh with a web interface any device could use… in addition to SMTP, POP, and IMAP for any email client.
Winlink may be the email choice of offshore cruisers where wifi mesh isn’t available, but it's a step back into the Dark Ages, IMO.

Remember back in the 1990's when you were using Packet and their different sites?
Winlink Express the free program that runs on windows and other platforms uses the good ol'
AX25 format and has been around for years a lot of ocean going boaters use it to communicate
with friends and family. I have never used it while sailing on the ocean but sounds like fun.
W8GCA-10 (RMS) 445.010 was put on the air by Bill Curtice for testing. I know there are several
faster ways to pass e-mail or traffic than WinLink BUT the powers to be have decided "they" want to
try using it along with voice and Fldigi in an emergency.
there is a way to get on the air with out buying a real TNC if you already have an interface such as
SignaLink USB device and a radio your all ready to go. Just down load winlink express and UZ7HO virtual
TNC and have at it. As to all those other items you mentioned since I no longer do MESH I don't have a clue
Bill would be the one to check with on that
I have added a couple of items I am in getting ready that might help if you need something else to do.
