Bill Curtice, climber extraordinaire, and JJ and I installed a new Bullet and L-Com Omni, as well as new cable for XWARN on Jim Simpson’s tower in North Xenia, just north of the fairgrounds Friday. It replaced Tim’s node known as N8NQH Xenia North. Great to hear it is still good and the problem was just in the cable. The new node is named W8XRN-XWARN-Omni. It will link to the DARA van during Hamvention, as did “Xenia North” last year. 

This new omni neighbors with WA8APB Bill’s omni in east Beavercreek with LQ typically above 90% and transmit rate typically around 15 Mbps. That will be a decent backup to the NanoStation M5 we didn’t have time to mount Friday, which will be the primary link to Bill. Hopefully we’ll be able to get that up soon.

If your node sees it as W8XRN-XWARN-Omni.local.mesh/KEMVM-Bullet-1.local.mesh just reboot your node(s) and the temporary KEMVM part will go away.
