...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM EDT FOR
SOUTHERN MORRIS...NORTHERN SOMERSET AND NORTHEASTERN MIDDLESEX
COUNTIES...

At 505 PM EDT, law enforcement reported flash flooding continuing in
Morristown. Several roads are closed, with flooding reported on
Interstate 287, Madison Avenue, Woodland Avenue, and Pine Street.
This remains a dangerous situation.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash
         flooding.

SOURCE...Law enforcement.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Morristown, Bridgewater, Carteret, Madison, Middlesex, Florham Park,
East Hanover, Bound Brook, Chatham, Morris Plains, Mendham, Peapack
And Gladstone, Chester, Far Hills, Colonia, Long Valley,
Martinsville, Millington, Basking Ridge and Parsippany.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Protecting yourself from immediate threats to life and safety shall
take priority.  Whenever possible, as long as it does not cause
greater harm, all COVID-19 protective action guidance should be
followed.

Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
