...A FLOOD WARNING FOR URBAN AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS REMAINS IN
EFFECT UNTIL 100 AM EDT FOR BERKS...NORTHWESTERN MONTGOMERY...LEHIGH
AND NORTHAMPTON COUNTIES...

At 1038 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
flooding across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. Gages along the Perkiomen Creek and some portions of
the Little Lehigh River were in flood stage. Although the heaviest
rain has left the warned area for now, additional rain is possible
overnight which could exacerbate ongoing flooding issues.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Allentown, Reading, Easton, Bethlehem, Forks, Emmaus, Wyomissing,
Northampton, Wilson, Hellertown, Nazareth, Bangor, Kutztown, Hamburg,
Slatington, Fleetwood, Laureldale, Pen Argyl, East Greenville and
Wind Gap.

Additional rainfall amounts of up to one inch are possible in the
warned area overnight.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
