...EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued an
Excessive Heat Watch, which is in effect through Wednesday
evening.

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...Up to 101 due to temperatures in the mid
90s, and dewpoints in the lower 70s.

* TIMING...High temperatures in and around Philadelphia will be
in the lower 90s on Sunday, and then near 95 on Monday and
Tuesday. This, along with surface dewpoints in the lower 70s,
results in a heat index approaching 100 on Sunday, and then up
to 101 on Monday and Tuesday. The heat and humidity could last
  into Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during
  outdoor exertion or extended exposure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

An Excessive Heat Watch means that a prolonged period of hot
temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and
high humidity will combine to create a DANGEROUS SITUATION in
which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay
in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on
relatives and neighbors.
