The water may be deeper than you think.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Brandywine Creek at Chadds Ford.
* At 1:30 PM Friday the stage was 8.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage late this afternoon and
  continue to rise to near 9.2 feet early this evening. The
  river will fall below flood stage by by late evening.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet...The intersections of Creek Road and
  Route 926 near Pocopson floods upstream of Chadds Ford.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 9.2
  feet on Apr 2 1998.
