.Low pressure will consolidate into an intense Nor'easter just
east of the Mid-Atlantic coast today, then track southeast of
Nantucket Island late tonight. Unnecessary travel especially in
most of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania this afternoon and
evening is strongly discouraged!

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 9 to 14
inches are expected. The greatest accumulations should be in the
higher elevations.
* WHERE...Northwestern New Jersey.
* WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Thursday. Snow will develop through this
morning, becoming heavy at times especially from late morning through
early evening when snowfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour are
expected. The snow then tapers off late this evening.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be very difficult to
impossible, especially during this evenings commute. Be prepared
for significant reductions in visibility at times. Once snowfall
rates reach or exceed one inch per hour, it becomes difficult
for road crews to keep up due to rapid accumulations. The weight
of the snow on trees and power lines can lead to power outages.
