The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a
* Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for...
Central Sussex County in southern Delaware...
* Until 1230 AM EDT.
* At 832 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers producing heavy
rain with rainfall rates of up to one inch per hour that will
cause minor flooding. These showers are moving slowly and training
over each other. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in
minor flooding in the advisory area.
* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Georgetown, Lewes and Milton.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
