MONTGOMERY...CHESTER...WESTERN PHILADELPHIA AND DELAWARE COUNTIES...

At 1045 PM EDT, thunderstorms with heavy rain extended from around
Philadelphia to southern Chester County and northern New Castle
County, moving west at 20 mph. Torrential rainfall is occurring with
these storms, and may cause localized flooding, especially in urban
and poor drainage areas. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways. Rainfall amounts of one-half to one inch in just 30
minutes has been observed with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Philadelphia, Wilmington, Newark, West Chester, Elkton, Calvert,
Chester, West Deptford, Pennsville, Coatesville, Yeadon, Westtown,
Carneys Point, Downingtown, Conshohocken, Folcroft, Swarthmore,
Elsmere, Paulsboro and Kennett Square.

Cloud to ground lightning is also occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
