...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of eastern Pennsylvania, northeastern Maryland, central
and northern Delaware, and southwestern, central and
  northwestern New Jersey.

* Through tonight.

* Numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms this evening will
gradually diminish overnight. This activity will be capable of
producing heavy downpours as the same tropical airmass that has
been in place since the weekend is still over the area. Rainfall
rates over one inch per hour in spots could lead to locally
heavy rainfall amounts of two to three inches where these
showers and storms move repeatedly over the same locations.

* Excessive rainfall within a short period of time can lead to
rapidly rising water and flash flooding, particularly in urban
areas, along small creeks and streams and in areas where the
ground in already very saturated due to recent heavy rains. The
greatest risk for flash flooding will be this evening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that there is the potential for flash
flooding which can be life-threatening. Heavy rain is expected to
occur over a short period of time. Rapidly rising flood waters
may quickly inundate roadways and areas of poor drainage. Streams
and creeks could leave their banks, flooding nearby properties.

Please monitor the forecast, especially if you live in a location
that is prone to flooding. Be prepared to take action if a flash
flood warning is issued for your area.
