PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...Do not attempt to drive through flooded areas.
The water may be deeper than you think.

  The North Branch Raritan River at Raritan.
* Until late tonight...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 10:45 AM Friday the stage was 8.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue
  to rise to near 10.5 feet by this afternoon. The river will fall
  below flood stage by this evening.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet...Flooding occurs along Old York Road and
  in North Branch Village.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.3
  feet on Apr 3 2005.

* From this afternoon to Saturday morning...or until the warning is
  cancelled.
* At 10:15 AM Friday the stage was 10.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and continue
  to rise to near 14.8 feet by this evening. The river will fall below
  flood stage after midnight tonight.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet...Dukes Parkway begins to flood in Hillsborough.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.8 feet
  on Mar 22 1999.

  cancelled.
* At 10:15 AM Friday the stage was 24.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 28.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and continue
  to rise to near 29.3 feet tonight. The river will fall below flood
  stage by tomorrow morning.
* Impact...At 30.0 feet...Main Street is protected by flap valves/sluice
  gates. This level triggers the gate closures to protect Main Street.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 29.5 feet on
  Mar 11 1994.
