...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EDT THIS
AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Snow occurring. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 5
inches, with isolated amounts of 6 inches in the higher
elevations of the southern Poconos and northwest New Jersey, are
expected.
* WHERE...Portions of central, northern and northwest New Jersey
and east central, northeast and southeast Pennsylvania.
* WHEN...Snow has begun in the southern Poconos, far northern New
Jersey, and portions of the Lehigh Valley. Rain will spread into
the rest of the area by 5 am before quickly changing to snow.
Snow will become moderate to heavy at times through the morning
commute before tapering off late this morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on very difficult travel conditions,
including during this morning's commute. Expect poor
visibilities below one-half mile at times in heavy snow. Road
conditions will be highly dependent on snowfall rates and
elevation as rates greater than one inch per hour and slightly
colder temperatures in the hilly terrain will allow for
untreated roads to become snow covered. High temperatures this
afternoon in the 40s will lead to rapid melting.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving. The
latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be
obtained by calling 5 1 1.

AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Wet snow expected. Additional wet snow accumulations of
up to 2 inches are expected.
* WHERE...Portions of southern New Jersey and southeast
Pennsylvania.
* WHEN...Rain will spread across the area through 5 am before
transitioning to a wintry mix or all snow during the morning
commute. Snow may become moderate to heavy at times before
tapering off in the late morning hours.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on travel delays for the morning
commute, with poor visibility below one-half mile at times in
bursts of heavy snow. Road conditions will be highly dependent
on snowfall rates as rates greater than one inch per hour could
allow for a slushy accumulation on untreated secondary roads.
High temperatures this afternoon in the 40s will lead to rapid
melting.
