...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 PM EDT
FOR EASTERN CARBON AND SOUTHWESTERN MONROE COUNTIES...

At 125 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Beltzville
State Park, or near Lehighton, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

Locations impacted include...
Palmerton, Jim Thorpe, Brodheadsville, Beltzville State Park,
Gilbert, Lake Harmony, Blakeslee, Penn Forest Reservoir,
Albrightsville, Kresgeville, Christmans, Sun Valley, Jonas,
Meckesville, Effort, Trachsville, Fiddletown and Merwinsburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

In addition to large hail and damaging winds...frequent cloud to
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors
immediately. Remember...if you can hear thunder...you are close
enough to be struck by lightning.
