The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a
* Flood Advisory for...
Northeastern Middlesex County in northern New Jersey...
* Until 445 PM EDT
* At 1242 PM EDT...Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to one inch of rain has already fallen in some areas with
additional rainfall expected.
* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Perth Amboy, Edison, Sayreville, Carteret, Colonia, Woodbridge,
South Plainfield, South River, Metuchen, Iselin, Sewaren, Port
Reading, Fords, Avenel and Madison Park.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams...urban areas...highways...streets and underpasses
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated...or
ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
