The Prince George's County ARES/RACES will be hosting a Winlink
overview and Airmail installation training on Saturday December 12 at
1:00PM at the Prince George's County Fire Services Building located at
6820 Webster St. LAndover Hills, MD 20874.

Anyone interested in Winlink, or getting Airmail installed on a Laptop
is encouraged to attend.

What: An overview of Winlink and some behind the scenes information
followed by an airmail installation walk thru.
When: Saturday December 12 starting at 1:00 PM
Where: Prince George's County Fire Services Building
Who: Anyone interested in more information on Winlink and Airmail and
those folks that would like to have Airmail installed on their laptops
for personal and emergency use.

What to Bring: Yourself and your laptop(s).

The meeting will begin with an overview of the Winlink network and how
it works, to include an RMS packet node and what is seen when a
contact is made. The presentation will be by Jim Montgomery WB3KAS
and his able assistant(s).

Following the Winlink overview will be a walk thru of how to install
and configure Airmail on your PC laptop, to include setting up an
airmail account. An RMS Packet node will be available if you would
like to bring an entire airmail set-up and try it out to ensure it
connects. Likewise, we will have a list of equipment needed with a
rough estimate of pricing if you are interested in buying what you
need to get on the air with Airmail.

If you are interested in coming, please send an e-mail to Dan Blasberg
KA8YPY (ka8ypy at verizon.net) so that we have a rough head count.
