[MRCG] Variable Frequency Motor Drive for 400Hz/800Hz Radio Power?

Do any of y'all have any experience with trying to adapt a variable frequency motor drive (VFD) for off-label uses such as producing 400Hz or 800Hz power for running aircraft radios? I gather that at the very least, a lot of output filtering would be needed to get clean sine waves from their unfiltered PWM output, and then even more input and output filtering to get rid of EMI hash. Most of the cheap imported VFDs I've seen so far appear to go up to 400 Hz, and some of them support up to 1000 Hz.

The applications I'm thinking of include powering my GP-11 transmitter (around 1kW of 115VAC 800 Hz single phase), and powering the 618T-2 that I picked up at the last MRCG (around 1kW of 115VAC 400 Hz 3-phase). I have an 800 Hz aircraft generator and spline to V belt adapter as a backup plan for the GP-11, but something smaller and more efficient and quieter than a cobbled-together motor generator set would be nice.
