It looks like we have several HF stations that will be able to operate
remote, we will also have a Net Control station back at the Museum, our
operating frequency will be 3.885 MHz AM Mode. All the remote stations
should attempt to work Net Control and each other on 3885. There will also
be a few BC-611 Handheld Sets. Stations should identify with call sign and
location.
Net Control will also have a PRC-77 on an outside antenna, we will use 51
MHz for the 6 Meter FM frequency, so we can do some cross band contacts on 6
Meter FM and HF too. If any people with 6 Meter FM sets wish to set up with
a HF station in the field please do so.
The Museum has HF antennas, a dipole and a vertical, which I will use to run
Net Control under my call W6TOM/Museum
It would be nice if we could be on our way out to the remote locations no
later than 9, try to be at the Museum by 8, I'll probably be busy setting up
the Net Control Station. I have a list of 6 locations for the remote HF
stations that are parks, a college parking lot and parking lots of two
shopping centers. I'll be able to provide addresses so have a GPS or map.
It looks like we will have N7UVZ, NF6X, WB6NGK able to run HF in the field,
KG6UTS will set up his TCS set in the parking lot by the conference room.
There will also be a few guys with BC-611 handhelds. On 6 Meters many with
FM pack sets, a few PRC-6 sets.
N6CC will bring his TRC-77 for some HF CW and there will also be a few 2
Meter AM sets too.
I will at the Museum Thursday afternoon.
Bring sunscreen, water and a hat, it may be very warm. Take some pictures of
your setup so we can put some on our website.
BE SURE TO TEST ALL YOUR EQUIPMENT!!!! IT WORKED LAST YEAR, BUT WILL IT
STILL WORK THIS YEAR!!
AND ABOVE ALL... BE SAFE AND HAVE FUN!!!
