Its the season! Big lightning , hail, and monsoon rain in our mountains
and it felt like a storm coming in the Anza Borrego Desert. It was 95
and misty at 0900 the 120 in the afternoon. I disconnect the ladderline
then gnd it with a Frankenstein switch. Also, the pwr gets shut
off/pulled to radios and other electronics. Even if we don't get hit
there are frequent power outages through the monsoon season.

I originally put a Polyphaser coaxial lightning arrestor on each conductor, but my T-368 made the discharge tubes flash over on voice peaks and maintain an arc until the transmitter was unkeyed. Now, I just ground the feedline when not in use with a bid DPDT knife switch just inside the window feedthrough, The knife switch disconnects the feedline from my balanced tuner and grounds both feedline conductors.
