Jason,

On shopping for cable at Apex the drill is to prowl around in their  
yard until you find something that would work and then tell them "I  
want X feet of this."  Doesn't have to be shielded for the GRC-9 BTW  
and they do have some of just about ever kind imaginable.

And yes they can be very anal about some stuff.  I approached them  
about the TDE a couple of years ago and got the same BS you did.  In  
the meantime they've left it out in the weather to deteriorate  
further.  Go back on another day and talk to a different guy and the  
answer can be different (better or worse).

OTOH, still a lot of stuff there you can't find anywhere else,  
connectors for ex. I've been very successful out there on the wire  
front too but it's a DIY job.
