Passing of Bart Rowlett

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I share this news with you.

I was informed today that Bart Rowlett, longtime friend and fellow
caver and ham, has passed away.

Many of you will remember Bart as that likable guy who seemed to know a lot
about everything technical You could ask him a question on virtually
anything and get back volumes of data in response, and all of it proved to
be correct. Bart worked for Raytheon Corp. almost until the end, where he
applied his technical skills to military projects.

One of Bart's hobbies was radio communications, and this came in handy for
cavers. Spanning many years and numerous field experiments, he advanced the
field to its current state.

As to details of his passing, we have no further information at this time,
but will send out more information as it comes available.

Anyone receiving this message is encouraged to share this sad news with any
group you think he was associated with.
