Mark,

Yes, I started this foolishness back about 1999.  I put up a web page, 
and various people built similar sets.  Full story HERE

If this guy followed my plan, the three wires coming out will be ground, 
heater, and B+.  It should run on 3-4 9-volters in series.
You'll need a transformer or some sort of network to sub for the headset.
