Hi Guys - Nice clock Breck! (Not to steal the thread but nice Cootie key
too BTW!)

30 years ago a guy showed up at the Livermore swap with a bucket of
(Timecrafters) 12 hour clocks that came from RATT shelters. Looks just
like yours. Probably excessed via the Sacramento Army Depot. I got a few
but most didn't work and the ones that did were battery hogs. Single AA
cell.

So I replaced the movement with a 24-hour quartz movement (perfect fit).
Clockparts has them plus various hands kits. I modified a set by adding
phosphorescent tape to the hands (BIG glow at a campsite after charging!)
A buddy at work was a clock geek and he had some repair parts kits for
military 24 hour clocks. (Of course he did...)
I borrowed one of his replacement "dials", made a reduced-size photo
copy and installed it with new hands in Frankenclock. No more 30 day
indication but it came out quite nice. Happy camper.
Necessity is the Mother of Intervention...new Vs old...
