Although I have a mentality that tends to want to make things over complicated, sometimes, I see the light. Discovering all that you have to do is remove three screws and slide the receiver deck out is an example. Another issue I realized is that instead of building up a complex box with a switch all I really need is the ability to run the receiver out of the case and that most of what I will be doing only requires operation in the AM mode. Attached is a drawing that shows two configurations on 2K1 and with the use of just one jumper allows easy configuration from one mode to the other. Will also build up little jumper with two resistors for AM mode but this is way better than building a box, also the idea of having a bunch of wires just to be able to switch easily between AM and CW just don’t justify the cost, the end results are to get the radio up and working properly and not spend excessive effort in building test fixtures. The drawing that’s used for connecting 2K1 in both modes is attached.
